I'm not sure what to suggest. Most GM-less mechanics I've seen involve
some form of round-robin storytelling. Maybe if you tell us what you
dislike about round-robin storytelling we can suggest something you
would like?

Isn't this round-robin storytelling?

If you can dig out a copy, you might want to look at the out-of-print
Theatrix system. You may still be able to get a copy on EBay.
